Sairalyn Ansano
Sairalyn is a Nigerian born, Jersey City raised, Filipino-American artist who works with a variety of mediums to capture the still frames of everyday life and the world around us. With a past career as an art therapist, she believes that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts, achieve insight, relieve stress and improve their quality of life. Her work is her outlet as well as her attempt to capture and preserve the small, sometimes fleeting, moments we experience throughout our lives.
Sairalyn received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts and her MA from New York University in New York City. While her medium of choice is graphite, her work also consists of photography, painting, digital art and mixed media. Her images reflect themes which spark joy in her life (family, food, and travel) as well as others inherent to the human struggle.
